The Peth play Greenman!
4 December, 2006 - A word from Ben and an update from Les:
Word from Ben:
"Hi, we have just returned from the weekend over in Bethesda. I went to go and see my dad in hospital and he's in good spirits despite being in hospital. Took him for a whizz around the hospital in a wheelchair with a bottle of oxygen for company, which he loved! He has been couped up in that one room far too long! We got as far as the main enterance as it was blowing a gale outside so we just watched the old lady's and tree's blowing over in the wind. We made a little tour of the hospital and his old ward to see the nurses that he already knows! Everyone was so glad to see him looking so much better than he was when he first came in. We then had a cup of tea and a pork pie before going back to his cell. When we left he had the task of finding a television signal for his digital TV reciever on his notebook (laptop) to occupy him! The doctor is impressed with his progress and had to remind him that he is still very ill and to take it easy.
Anway's he would like to post a message whcich he gave to me before I left and it goes something like this (because he kept changing it and talking too fast)..."
Something unexpected has happened with my heart and I will be out of action for a couple of months. I already miss the touring and the lovely people that I have met along the way. I have a lengthy recovery ahead of me and am greatful to those who have helped so far and visited me and sent me gifts and letters.
Thanks to everyone who have sent parcels, and cuddly toys, killer whales, camels, gorillas, books, paints, I heart meat collection and all 17 green frogs! The nurses would also like to say thank you for the pot plant sent from Lee in Norwich, they really appreciate it. Also the nuses would like to thank an annonymous person who sent flowers from Leeds. I have had to give most of my cuddly toys to the childrens wards as I have recieved so many!
I also want to thank Karen for her letter and Lorin for the fruit and wise words of "don't move a muscle!". I also would like to thank Melonie for all her efforts. I have so many people to thank and am really touched by the support I have had from all around the world! I am still going to be in for a few more weeks and I will stay in touch and let everyone know what is happening.
Thank you all so much. If you would like to say hello the address is:
